2024 conference locations: North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (Cullowhee, NC) and WCU Biltmore Park (Asheville, NC)
WCU C.E.I. Recap of 2024
Conferences: C.E.I. hosted two conferences for local business leaders in the area, one in Jackson County and one at the WCU Biltmore Park campus. Four faculty speakers (Scott Rader, Nathan Johnson, Ehten Cheng, and David Smith) shared topics from social media to retirement planning.
Local Business Engagement: Faculty and students consulted and/or provided training to several businesses locally and regionally.
Student Capstone Projects: C.E.I. funded six capstone projects for start-ups or ongoing ventures with the help of six WCU faculty members who mentored 19 WCU students in their capstone projects. The total invested totaled $30,000.
Collaboration with other Entities: Emory University, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Fairy Cod Mother, North Carolina Wildlife Resources, Tennessee Wild Resources, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and George Mason University.
